It seems that we have all forgotten that not long ago, a few thousand bombs reigned down on Baghdad killing thousands of people. It may be worth remembering that when you try to come to terms with the survivors of that bombing campaign resorting to violence. I must admit, if my place was ripped to pieces by a daisy cutter, I'd be pretty pissed too. It's as though the violence against the Iraqis is taken for granted as part of a justifiable mission, but violence committed by the victims of such violence is seen as unbelievable, shocking, terrible and outrageous.
In my mind ANY indiscriminate explosion is outrageous. That makes ALL OF YOU! Unfortunately one side is poor and downtrodden and the other side controls the media, so sadly it is always going to look like WE are right and THEY are wrong.
When was the last time you put on "Dark Side of the Moon" and listened from start to finish?

Last week our Prime Minister was at the Bali bombing memorial services, making sure he was filmed and photographed as much as possible with what looked like a cross between a genuine look of empathy and his usual smug grin.
I have the deepest sympathy for the victims of the Bali bombing, in fact I knew three who died and many more relatives and friends of those three girls. I have shed many a tear over the last year or so, coming to terms with just how horrific and life changing the terrible event was. But I can't help but look at John Howard's involvement in the memorial as despicable.
Now I know that it is kind of inevitable that he has to be there, for the sake of the nation and all, but I am an internationalist. I believe that all innocent victims of bombings have equal levels of grief for their families and deserve equal contemplation as we try to come to grips with what is happening in this world.
John Howard is an avid participant in the war on terror. In fact it is partly his absolute devotion to the American "war" that has made Australia a target. Not only that, but he and George Bush and Tony Blair headed up a massive bombing campaign in both Afghanistan and Iraq, that killed thousands upon thousands of innocent vicitms, just like the ones we lost in Bali.
If you call it a war, as Howard and Bush have done, you give both sides the right to use whatever means are at their disposal to try to "win" the "war". Calling it a war makes the Bali bombers feel justified, as it makes Howard and Co. justified, to kill innocent people in the name of the "war effort".
I think that John Howard needs to take a good look at what he is doing, step back from the memorial services and let all victims of this war - Australian, Indonesian, Iraqi, Afghan - grieve in peace and not have the totally outrageous and profoundly insulting presence at the memorial services of the one of the key "terrorist" leaders in this ill-thought out "war" spoil the truly personal and tragic experience of the innocent victims.
It's like the murderer going on TV and pleading for someone to find the killer of his family, when all along it was he who was to blame. John Howard's policies are fuelling terrorism and the WAR is the absolute wrong way to go. There will be more victims, and Johnny will be there grieving and grinning smugly to the camera as he does what he thinks is "the right thing to do", just as the terrorists will do.
It's time to end the war on terror, and begin the "QUEST FOR PEACE"

I have to say what glee I feel that it's Thursday night again! CNNNN is back! The only TV show that exposes the media for what it really is - a joke! They push the boundaries of bad taste to the point that some people may be horrified, until they realise just how un-horrific their satire seems compared to the real thing. Real news channels masquerading entertainment and news while beating the drums of real war. I love it! Hilarious satire and pointed media commentary in a nutshell. Well done lads! Check out their

It's the labour day long weekend. How that holiday survived through the technological revolution has always astounded me. I mean, what percentage of the population ACTUALLY do LABOUR? Most of us sit on our arses emailing people all day, yet we are quite wiling to goof off for a day in the honour of the poor bastards who actually get off their butts and do something manually taxing.
This being said, my wife is holding the banner for the labourer and kicking the long weekend off by slaving her guts out all day cleaning a house with her sister - ready for sale by some investor landlord character whose entire contirbution to humanity was to buy enough properties so as to never lift a finger for the rest of their lives! Yes the labourers are working this weekend, while the landlords are sunning themselves, gobbling down sauages and steaks, guzzling beers and toasting the work ethic.
All I can say is my wife looks great with all that manual labour, she is trim taut and terrific, and, well, my guess is that the investor bludger dude is fast approaching their first massive coronary - the crowning testament to their greed, idleness and cynical abuse of this October long weekend.
God bless the working class - the only people who actually do anything.
